Artist statement
I am a ceramicist who explores a range of different themes within my work, I'm intrigued and curious about the world around us, through using narrative to abstraction, colour to space and light to form, I explore objects which intrigue my curiosity. In particular I'm interested in taxidermy, I find our relationship between human and animal to be both simple and complicated. By using taxidermy and taxidermy elements within my work, it opens up a dialogue for the audience to engage with.
I incorporate mixed media with clay, as it gives my work both visceral and sensual characteristics.
I use a variety of techniques and skills developed both as an undergraduate and postgraduate within the Cardiff area, I'm currently developing my practice further.
